2021 Council Centennial Museum
At the 2021 Council Jamboree at Boxwell Reservation, a ribbon cutting ceremony unveiled the renovations of the old pump house into a museum. The event was held September 24-25, 2021. The ribbon cutting was 7:00 pm on the 24th. Displays were set up in the pump house as well as under a tent outside the pump house. Ray Capp was the chairman of the project to renovate the building which was made possible by a generous donation from Pam & Phil Pfeffer. Boyd Williams was the curator of the museum displays for that weekend. The pump house, which purified lake water for the scouts' use from 1960 thru 1976 when the reservation connected to the local utility district water lines, had been dormant since. It was long a dream of Capp to convert the vacant but beautiful structure into a museum. The pictures at the end are of the pump house one year before the ribbon cutting. All of the museum exhibits at the jamboree were specific to Middle Tennessee Council. Hundreds of scouts and scouters went thru the museum that weekend.
